Food from the Land.
This is the fourth in a 4-weekend series (March, June, September and December 2024) going over the sacred 4 elements of survival: Shelter - Water - Fire - Food.
This weekend workshop will delve deeply into the last element in the Sacred Order of Survival, food. Wherever our ancestors came from, they all had the common need for food. For thousands of years, ancient people developed and perfected ways of collecting food from the land and water.
We will study the skills of tracking, movement, basic hunting weapons, trapping, and plant foraging. Also, how to apply these skills as a caretaker of the land and honor the plants and animals that feed us. *No animals will be killed in this class; however, techniques to safely and respectfully harvest animals for food will be demonstrated.
The skills of survival are a doorway to the Earth. The skills give an opportunity to take away fear and create a sense of home and the tools to build relationship with the Earth.
At 4EEE our focus is teaching youth—our youth are raised by Parents, family, and the community. We teach and share through experience of survival skills and running Programs here and abroad for over 30 Years; we are blessed to have a land base in partnership with the Siakumne Tribe. We have been asked to offer programs specifically for adults, and we see the need to educate adults in the community.
