Fall Tiny Fox Walkers

4 week session

AM - 10am to 12pm

We meet each Monday starting September 9th through to September 30th

  • September 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th

We at Fox Walkers are excited to offer a nature immersion class to the littlest members of our community. This is an opportunity to honor new and growing families by creating space for the village to come together.

An adult (parent/guardian/grandparent/etc.) must participate with each child and will be an integral part of the class. Together, we will discover some wonders of the land, though the eyes of the children. We will incorporate nurturing movement that honors the postpartum process (and is good for all bodies). We will do some light exploring around the property, as well as skill workshops and sensory exploration. Elders will join us to share stories. There will be an ongoing project to make something fun for the babies over our times together.

Bring water, hats and snacks, a carrier and/or stroller. This is a time for babes and their caregivers to find nourishment in nature while building up the community of shared values.

Our Tiny Fox Walkers Youth Programs introduce Earth Skills, a blend of the ancient arts of tracking, wilderness survival, and nature awareness. Through our programs, a re-thinking of our connection to nature begins to occur. Nature is not simply a resource that we control as a product, but a relationship we must cultivate. Through hands-on skills, games, songs and storytelling, we create an "invisible school", where kids learn directly from the Earth while having tons of fun, laughing and playing with each other.

Our curriculum is inspired from Indigenous values and the Old Ways Earth Skills, largely learned from the Tracker School and through each Instructor's own "dirt time" living these skills.

See you there!

We meet at Burton Educational Preserve in Nevada City for this 4 week session, exploring nature in this time as the weather cools, developing our relationships with the changing landscape, spending time around the central fire working on projects, sharing stories and so much more.
